The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers is continuing its campaign criticizing Northeast Utilities and staffing levels of its electrical utilities in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

IBEW’s latest broadside against the company came Friday as the union called attention to an announcement by Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley Aug. 7 that her office will ask Bay State utility regulators to fine NU and its NStar subsidiary $9.7 million for failing to prepare and respond properly to Tropical Storm Irene and an October 2011 snowstorm.

Coakley called NU and NStar’s preparation “woefully inadequate” in the report.
