Over 250 First Nations, environmentalists, and supporters spent hours on Saturday marching through a cloud of dust while braving the acrid smell of sulphur covering Highway 63 during a spiritual healing walk north of Fort McMurray.

Entering its third year, participants of the Tar Sands Healing Walk were led by elders along a 13 kilometre route journeying past Syncrude Canada’s mine and a tailings pond.
