MONTREAL – A coalition of environmental groups has denounced the Liberal government as “environmental enemy No. 1” and is calling on other parties to commit to protecting one of the last great undeveloped rivers in the province.

“If the Liberals win, it will be business as usual, and the end of Quebec’s big rivers,” Christopher Scott, a spokesperson for the Rivière Romaine Coalition, told The Gazette before a news conference in Sept-Îles Friday afternoon.
