What do the New England states and the Eastern Canadian provinces have in common? In addition to geography, culture and climate, there are energy, environmental and other issues that could bring us clos­er together or drive us apart. There are signifi­cant benefits to being closer together, if we can do it right.

At their annual meet­ing this coming week­end in Burlington, the New England gover­nors and Eastern Cana­dian premiers will dis­cuss cost-effective procurement of more renewable energy in our region and increased electrifica­tion of our transportation sys­tem. Outside the meeting at the Hilton Hotel, citizens from Ver­mont and all over New England will be expressing their con­cerns about the Trailbreaker pipeline project.
