The members of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 104, which proudly serves New Hampshire’s electrical utility needs, would like to dispel the many myths being circulated about the Northern Pass project.

First, the actual cost estimates to bury the proposed power lines are at least 10 times more than it would cost to put them above ground. Also, the high-voltage lines would need to be encased in concrete if they are buried; if there is a problem with the underground lines, the entire line would have to be shut down for maintenance underground. This would need to be done at a massive cost, which would eventually be passed on to customers.
