Federal officials should move decisively to toughen regulations on the pipeline industry in the wake of the disturbing investigation of the Enbridge Inc. spill in 2010.

Michiganders will recall that Enbridge’s 6B pipeline dumped between 800,000 and 1.1 million gallons of oil into a creek that fed into the Kalamazoo River. It is the worst such disaster in the Midwest.
